It worked when she was a child on her daddy’s knee and it works with most men as well. She’s a little on the skinny side, but she knows how to dress her curves up to accentuate her virtues without seeming like a hussy. Her dresses are always on the low cut side, but never enough to be called scandalous.
Other: Hera says what others expect to hear from her. She’s grown so used to playing into people’s expectations that it’s automatic. She has a much softer side than she shows and is grateful for the way most people think of her as it helps her hide this.

== History Summary ==
Hera grew up knowing that she was going to be the Head of her House. A series of bad accidents and illness had left the family with little in the way of a ‘next generation’ and Hera was the best and brightest of those. Raised to know how to administrate, she was never really taught how to handle the day to day runnings. She was taught to lean on others and that was how she believed.
She spent the summer months on the family’s country estate and when she was 15, fell in love with Rona, a stable hand. She knew her family would be shocked and that she’d lose the chance to be the Head of the House, but she didn’t care about that. She was young and in love and wanted nothing more than to be with him. When her father came to get her at the end of her 4 month stay, he found her already pregnant. He told her to get into the wagon and they’d deal with it when they got home, but she refused. For the first time in her life she argued with him.
It didn’t end well. She stormed into the Manor house and it wasn’t until that evening that she came down. She snuck down to the stables to find Rona, but was horrified at what she found there. Her father was there with a group of men, surrounding Rona. They accused him of raping her and stealing from the Menelaus House.
One of the men held Hera back while her father’s ‘justice’ was acted out. Rona didn’t survive it. When the other men left, her father turned his ‘justice’ on her and beat her until she was barely alive. She lost her child that night as well. The story that went through the Manor house was that after gaining Hera’s trust, Rona had raped her, stolen from them, and then beat her when she found him out and tried to hinder his escape.
She wasn’t able to talk for a few days and when she was, she had no wish to speak of what had happened. She heard her father’s voice in her head over and over again, instructing her on how to act, on what was appropriate, on how much better she was than a simple peasant.
She took his lessons to heart. She knew things were different than he said, but she had no doubt that the men and women he surrounded her with were his through and through and he would know of any trouble she caused. She also understood then how very different it was to be a peasant than to be a noble. She swore she’d never be the cause of another death like that again. Instead of making her soften towards the peasant class though, it hardened her to it, making her turn a blind eye so she wouldn’t have to see it.
3 years later her father got sick and she stepped up as the Head of House Menelaus. Her father is still around, but he lived in the family’s country estates until all the trouble began. He moved back into the main house then and has been no end of trouble to her with the way she deals with things. Bombarded on all sides to do things the way her father wants her to, she tells her people to do as they know they should and to leave her to grander alliances.
