Tanan Dawn (no middle name) AKA: Tim Daniels,Tomas Domingo, SunSet

Age: 26

Birthday:08/20/72

Height: 6'2"

Occupation: Sanction Agent, Currently Undercover with the Brotherhood as Tomas Domingo, Lorenzo Mandaro's bodyguard.

Physical Appearance: Tanan has short blond hair. His eyes change from Blue to Green. He wears loose pants and tight shirts. The pants to fight well in, the shirts to show off a very muscular upper body (the rest matches) He is very aware of his appearance and the effects it has on people. He uses that advantage whenever possible. People tend to overlook him as a bodyguard type because of his rather innocent, young looks.

Background: Tanan was born on Aug.20, 2272 to famous actor (and unknown Sanction agent) Alan Dawn and his wife Talana Dawn, along with his twin sister Taea. His mother was killed immediately after their birth. He and his sister were told that their mother died in childbirth, but the truth was that after she had been injected with a syrum by Sanction to see the effect on one of her children, she knew too much.

Tanan was very empathic to people. He wasn’t a strong Esper which made it worse for him because he couldn’t shield himself sufficiently from their emotions to not get caught up in them. Taea buffered him when she was around and he eventually let her give him a shield. She was strong than he was, but she was also cruel. Tanan loved her more than anything, but he felt the pain she could cause in others, that she sometimes seemed to enjoy. He was very careful not to inflict the same damage. Instead, he turned to his studies. He wanted to help people so he decided at an early age to become a psychologist. He had talked to his Dad about it, and he had supported him whole heartedly.

That all changed though. In February of 86 Taea began working alone. So did he. She took her orders from a man named Hal, who Tanan respected, but disliked. Hal was a good agent but he didn't like the man close to his sister. Tanan took his orders from Andrea. She had become a mentor to him in everything he did. She was lover/coach/boss/mother. She tried from time to time to take Taea’s place in his life, but Tanan refused to let his sister be removed. She slowly made him think that he would have a wonderful career with Sanction if he could just get away from his father’s worried concerns and his little sister’s needy ways. With careful manipulation, Tanan saw his future with Sanction as bright and full. His sister would join him later, when he was good enough. Those were Andrea’s promises. Things changed when Tanan found out about Taea’s pregnancy. His dislike for Hal grew, as well as his doubt about Sanction. Andrea soothed his misgivings though.

In 7/87 though, Sanction came for him. Taea fought to protect him, his father as well, but Tanan wanted to go. He watched Taea as she accepted it, though he felt the envy and jealousy coming from her that they had chosen him.

He learned that night that Taea wouldn’t be joining him though. That her pregnancy was very dangerous and that the Sanction people didn’t believe she’d survive. They began twisting him then. In 11/87 Tanan was introduced to Eric, a fellow agent who was very good to him. He was friendly and fun, and most importantly, supportive of Tanan’s desire to remain in Sanction. He accepted what Tanan believed Alan never could. By this time Tanan had heard a rumor or two about his sister’s abuse. With help from Andrea, Eric, and Arial, Tanan eventually began to believe it.

Tanan isn’t a strong Esper. He has a high empathy rating, but he can't control it. He has a good shield but it was built by his sister. He can send and receive thoughts from others, but only short distances. He has much stronger abilities when used with his sister or
father though. His familiar relationship with his father is one explanation. The fact that he is a twin is why he and Taea are as connected as they are. In his training with Sanction they had two major goals: 1) to corrupt his idea of his father so that he no longer recognized the authority he represented and no longer respected the rules and lifestyle the man had taught him 2) to corrupt his idea of his sister so that she became an idol for him, nothing he did would be worthy of her, therefore he must keep working harder, no one else could make her happy, and therefore he must work to receive the eventual reward of having his sister by his side. It was realized early on that these ideas were perverting his idea of Taea, but they saw no reason to stop. His perversion didn't affect his performance as an agent.

Though he was nurturing the picture of his sister as the perfect woman, his view of his father was diminishing. He didn’t want to believe the rumors though, and deep inside he fought against it. Until the day Eric was killed. It was in 2289. Eric had become a Father to Tanan. He walked outside with him and Eric was shot. Tanan recognized the
familiar mind around him and found that Alan was the one that had killed him. When asked, Alan sent Tanan a short reply to keep his silence. Tanan took the reply
as a threat. He believed from then on the worst about Alan. He vowed to Eric that he would get revenge for his death. And for his sister’s abuse.

In 95 he began working undercover for Sanction to try to infiltrate the Brotherhood. There were many different levels to the organization and twice as many safe guards and checks so it took time to rise in the ranks. In the beginning of 2297 Tanan was walking with a group of men, when someone drove through and tried to shoot the lead man with them. The man, Lorenzo Mandaro, was impressed when Tanan took a bullet for him. It
was of course a Sanction set up and the shot was fired by a friend of Tanan’s, Zee Jones, a man Tanan looked up to. After recovering from the shot, Tanan became Lorenzo’s bodyguard. He was with one of the few men who knew who the Mantis was.

In 12/2297, Tanan was told that Lorenzo was planning on taking the Lustre. He immediately sent the information through to Sanction. He tried to get in touch with his nephew, who he had kept track of over the years (even if Sanction wouldn’t allow him to develop a real relationship with the boy) but was unable to contact him.

Tanan enjoyed working with Lorenzo, found him to be a fair man, if ruthless at times. He heard, along with everyone else, that Alan Dawn was onboard and doing a production of Midsummer Night's Dream. For some reason, he had to go see it. He stayed towards the back, knowing that Alan wouldn't be able to see him over the spotlights, but still feeling safer in the background. It was a wonderful performace and even Tanan was spellbound by his father's performance. He avoided the man at all other times. It wasn't until the Landing Celebration that he saw him again. He went to speak to Zane Kelso for Lorenzo and there he was, face to face with his sister, Taea. They had barely a moment before Alan showed up and took her away from him. But she knew he was there and he was able to see her again. So he went to her and told her how he loved her and that he was the only one that could love her. She pushed away from him, but she still came back. In the
end, he knew she was his.

For Lorenzo, he spent most of his spare time with a woman, Paige Branson. She was the sister of a reporter that they wanted to keep an eye on. It started on the ship and continued on the planet. Until one day Paige just disappeared. Tanan knew it had something to do with Reid, who had told her all about him. She hadn't believed him at the time, but her sudden disappearance made Tanan think she had changed her mind.

With that distraction gone, Tanan began spending his time working for Lorenzo, trying to help his boss go clean. When he can, he sneaks away to see his sister, but she isn't always as pleased to see him as he'd like. So he began planning for the day when he could take Taea away from the circumstances that were separating them. But what are Tanan's plans? And how large a body count will he leave before it's all over?
